When Fuzzy was born, he contracted a very serious respiratory infection which spread to eyes, causing them to swell enormously. Fuzzy was taken to the vet, where his owners were given salve to apply to his eyes. The vet told told them that if Fuzzy was still alive in two weeks, to bring him back for a checkup.

Needless to say,Fuzzy's owners were not very impressed with this vet, and decided to seek a second opinion. Dr. Alger (the second vet) said that in Fuzzy's case, there were two options - euthanize him or remove his eyes.

In spite of Fuzzy's pain and his inability to see, since he was a normal, active cat, the decision was made to have Fuzzy's eyes removed.

Fuzzy has never been able to see, except for shadows when he was a kitten, yet acts like any perfectly normal healthy cat. He is able to get up to the kitchen counter and down by himself. He also (for some strange reason) loves step ladders, and if one is set up, he can be seen heading for the top! This cat is amazing!

He also plays hide and seek and chases bugs. Fuzzy's story proves that just because a cat is blind, does not mean there is no quality of life left. He lives each day to the fullest and is the pride and joy of his owners Betty and Carl. Please take a moment to visit Fuzzy's home on the net and meet the rest of his family.
