Vinnie
Hi! My name is Vinnie, formerly known as Minnie and I used to belong to a lady in a retirement home, but she couldn't look after me any more. Her son took me to the vet's office and asked them to find me a nice home. There was someone who wanted me, but before she could come and get me, my original owner decided she wanted me back and told her son that I was all that kept her going. Back I went to my original owner, but it wasn't long before she decided she really couldn't look after me, and it was back to the vet's office to (hopefully) find a new home. But this time, the son paid my board for a week and told the staff that if a good home couldn't be found by the time my board ran out, they were to euthanize me. Thank goodness my new mommy has "sucker" tatooed on her head (just kidding); because when someone from the vet's office called her and asked her to foster me till a good home could be found, mommy said she wouldn't foster me, she'd ADOPT me! Of course the fact that I'm black didn't hurt my cause at all. What a relief! Just to make sure I was healthy, mommy and daddy had the vet check me over; he told them I was between 2 and 4 years old, and I weighed 17.6 pounds. I'm not the most sociable cat in the world (with other cats that is), but I sure do love to be brushed and fussed over by humans. At first, I camped out in the spare bedroom because Oz and Voodoo kept picking on me. They just didn't seem to get the idea that all I wanted was to be left alone. Then we moved to a house, and mommy and daddy refused to let me live in the bedroom anymore, and put my food and water dishes with everyone else's. I must admit, I like having more room, but the thing I like the best is to curl up in my kittybed in front of the picture window and sleep in the sun.
